Rogue Traders

We’ve recently seen an increase in reports of rogue traders attempting to carry out roofing work in the Port Street area. These individuals are targeting residents in an effort to defraud them—either by requesting money for work that is never completed, or by charging vastly inflated prices.

Please keep the following advice in mind:

Always ask for a contact card from anyone offering work.

Be cautious of anyone who claims they can start immediately. Most legitimate traders are booked in advance.

Do not answer the door if you suspect the person may be a rogue trader.

Share this information with relatives, friends, and neighbours—especially those who may be more vulnerable to scams.
