Volunteers Needed for Community Speed Watch – Alvechurch & Wythall

Dear Resident

We are inviting residents of Alvechurch and Wythall to consider joining their local Community Speed Watch (CSW) schemes, which are currently seeking new volunteers.

Community Speed Watch is a police-supported initiative that enables trained volunteers to monitor vehicle speeds in areas where speeding is a concern. The aim is to raise awareness, encourage safer driving, and help reduce speeding through education and engagement – making our roads safer for everyone.

CSW is not about issuing fines. Instead, details of speeding vehicles are recorded and used to inform letters to drivers, identify repeat concerns, and support targeted policing where necessary.

No previous experience is required. Full training, guidance and equipment are provided, and volunteers give their time on an occasional basis as part of a team.
