An Eventful Saturday |
||
|
Dear NHM users,
Yesterday, Saturday 27th June, was an event filled day for the Oswestry and Ellesmere Safer Neighbourhood Teams with them attending several events during the day and evening.
Members of the Safer Neighbourhoods Team attended the Oswestry Pride 2026 event held at Cae Glas Park in the Town Centre. Whilst there they have assisted the event with road closures during the parade as well as engaging with attendees, organisers and other members of the public in the Town Centre. The event was well organised with no issues of concern reported to members of the Team in attendance.
Other members of the Safer Neighbourhoods Team attended the Gobowen Family Fun Day held at the Gobowen Pavilion and Sports field. The Team displayed their Police marked 4x4 vehicle allowing attendees to have a look at the equipment inside whilst also having a good chat. As always, the event was very well run with no incidents of note reported to the members of the Team.
Finally, members of the Safer Neighbourhoods Team provided high visibility patrols in Oswestry Town Centre as part of West Mercia Police’s Safer Streets Summer and World Cup patrols. The officers carrying out this duty conducted patrols of the Town Centre, visiting licensed premises, retail shops and providing a general reassurance to members of the community out in Town. The evening went off without any incidents of note or unruly behaviour, but is it Coming Home? The Team will continue to provide this presence in the Town Centre during the weekends and any World Cup fixtures with the continued aim of providing reassurance and a visible presence to the community and establishments open for business.
Keep Safe, Enjoy the Sun, and let’s see if it Comes Home.
