Help Us Protect Shifnal's Local Bike Track The local bike track in Nanny Murphy's Lane, Shifnal is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when young people take pride in their community. Built and developed through the initiative, hard work and creativity of local youths, it has become a popular place for people of all ages to enjoy outdoor activities, meet friends and stay active.
We want to see the community continue to use and enjoy this area. However, there has recently been an increase in littering, anti-social behaviour and, most concerningly, fires being started at the site.
With the current hot and dry weather, even a small fire can quickly spread and pose a serious risk to nearby land, wildlife and property. Deliberately starting fires not only endangers the community but may also constitute a criminal offence. If you are found to have started a fire, you could be investigated and treated as a suspect for arson.
The continued rise in anti-social behaviour risks jeopardising the future of the bike track. If these issues persist, there is a real possibility that measures could be considered which may restrict access to the area, affecting everyone who uses it responsibly.
We are asking for the support of the community to help keep this space safe and available for everyone.
