Headless Cross and Oakenshaw

Your Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Worcestershire.

Please find contact details for your Safer Neighbourhood Team provided below. Please note that to report a crime or incident to West Mercia Police, you can visit westmercia.police.uk or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Setting the blueprint for West Mercia Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner’s West Mercia Safer Communities Plan has four priorities shaped by the public:

- Cutting crime – targeting the concerns, and crime types, that matter most to communities, including anti-social behaviour
- Policing with the community – more visible and accessible policing resulting in improved public confidence and satisfaction
- Supporting victims and witnesses – ensuring victims feel supported throughout the criminal justice journey and are regularly updated, and criminals are brought to justice
- Maximising resources and value for money – identifying efficiencies and smarter ways of working without compromising on delivering a quality service

The West Mercia Police Local Policing Charter is based on three principles

- Visibility
- Accessibility
- Engagement.

It is a commitment to accessible, community-focused policing. It prioritises listening to residents, tackling crime, safety and anti-social behaviour (ASB).
